Arthur's Seat - Group Tours
| I offer tours of Arthur's Seat and Holyrood Park throughout the year, and at any time of day. There are many options for short or long visits, a fairly strenuous climb to the top, a more gentle low level route, or an accompanied coach tour to see the highlights. There's no minimum number of people, I can do a tour for one person or for twenty five. See table below for outline costs, but please get in touch to discuss your requirements. If you are visiting Edinburgh by yourself or as part of a small group, it's worth getting in touch to see if you can join a tour that is already planned.
Outline costs for a two-hour tour:
| One to three people | 15 GBP per person |
| 4-10 people | 50-65 GBP per tour |
| 11-25 people | Maximum 80 GBP per tour |
Some possible routes (see map):
Tour 1 - Red route
Climb to the summit of Arthur's Seat, along unpaved paths with some steep
sections. A leisurely circular route via Salisbury Crags, with fantastic
views. Duration 2 hours.
Tour 2 - Blue route
A more gentle alternative walk, hitting the highlights without too much
effort! Circular route around Salisbury Crags with great views of Arthur's
Seat and the city. Duration 1-2 hours.
Tours by arrangement at any time for groups large or small (maximum group size 25 people). The tours described above start from the Holyrood Palace Car Park, next to Holyrood Palace at the foot of Canongate (the Royal Mile), and close to Dynamic Earth. Multimap link. Alternatively we can start from the public entrance to the Scottish Parliament. Other routes and start points. are also possible.
Booking and Cancellation Policy
Unfortunately I've had to introduce a booking deposit after several groups cancelled at short notice or didn't turn up. A deposit of 50% of the total cost is required to confirm your booking – payments can be made by UK cheque (payable to 'Geowalks') or by using Paypal - see below. The deposit is returnable, less an administration charge, if you give at least 7 days notice of cancellation.

You can use the button below to pay for a group or educational tour. Please get in touch by email or phone to make a booking and confirm the price before sending money.
You can pay for walks using a credit/debit card, or an existing Paypal account; if you don't already have a Paypal account you don't need one (just click continue without entering any login details).
Please enter your group name and date of tour when prompted, to allow me to keep track of payments. It should be straight forward, although it does not seem to work if you are using Netscape. Let me know of any problems! I'll confirm all payments by email.
