GEOWALKS

Geowalks, Isle of EiggGeowalks, Hutton's Section, Salisbury CragsGeowalks, St Abbs Head

Discover the stories of Scotland's rocks
and a billion years of history!

Ever wondered what Scotland was like in the past? Tropical seas, volcanoes and great rivers formed the rocks beneath our feet, millions of years ago. These rocks have been sculpted and eroded to form Scotland's beautiful scenery. Join geologist Angus Miller for a walk back in time ...

Day Walks
Short walks in central Scotland. A relaxed pace, with the emphasis on the views and the big stories. Walks on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.

Holidays
See some of Scotland's finest rocks with a friendly group, in a relaxed, sociable atmosphere. Meals out, coffee stops and even the occasional beer garden are part of the experience. It's not all rocks, either, as we always stop and enjoy the views, the wildlife and the wild flowers.

Talks
I give talks regularly to local groups, and have a range of topics for you to choose from - exploring the story of the local area, or volcanoes, including a firsthand account of monitoring a volcanic eruption.

Arthur's Seat Tours
Discover Edinburgh's volcano! Guided walks in Holyrood Park are available for individuals and groups throughout the year.

Education
Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh is an ideal outdoor classroom for school groups; alternatively I can come to your school for a classroom session on a variety of themes.

Courses
I teach several classroom and excursion courses for adults at the Office of Lifelong Learning at Edinburgh University. Courses include 'Geology of Scotland's Hills' and 'Edinburgh's Seven Hills'.

UPDATE

The Geowalks programme takes a break for July and most of August, but I'll be back in business with more Day Walks and one more Geowalks Holidays in the remainder of 2008. If you haven't booked yet - get in touch soon!

This year I celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first Geowalk on 1st April 1998; thanks to all my customers and friends for your support! In the last few years Geowalks has gone from strength to strength, and I'm very much enjoying being involved in a range of activities. Hoping for several more decades of Geowalks to come ...

Please get in touch if you have any questions, would like to book a walk or a holiday, or if you would like to join my mailing list.
